Comment: Great range of lovely fresh food. All staff, except two, were absolutely wonderful and even staff at the serving stations go out of their way to be friendly. Our table staff were awesome! Not sure it's quite worth the cost but it is very good. They have extended the dining room and the new area is lovely. There still isn't a lot of room between tables but it is a lovely atmosphere otherwise with great staff and delicious food.

Comment: Took my friend and our partners here for dinner last night for my friends graduation. I told the staff it was her graduation and they came with a small cake that had congratulations on it. Was the cherry on top of a great night. Excellent array of food and attentive and friendly staff. Have been here before and will be back again. Thank you :)

Comment: Great buffet. Really enjoyed the Bay Lobsters (after figuring out how to peel the pancake looking things) also the mushroom soup was so buttery and nice. They had meats, salads, seafood, soups, pizza and dumplings and even indian food.
This is the only buffet i have been to that cooks meat while you wait and not just a standard steak, you can choose from kangaroo and ostrich.
My only complaints were that the roast lamb was disappointing (very tough like chewing gum), the cheese was not labelled well so didn't know what cheese i was grabbing and also no where to replace your cutlery once taken away (requiring you to hunt down someone to ask for a fork wastes precious buffet time)

You get what you pay for which is top notch food and service ?? well worth the price!
Had dinner here last weekend (27th of March @ 8 PM) with my family and the service was amazing! The staff are on to it and very professional. I took in two small cakes and they went above and beyond presenting the cake with little Happy Birthday note from the Eight.
The best buffet in Auckland.

Comment: Haven't been back since last year (about October I think it was) and never thought to leave a review. Have been to number 8 several times as and when I can. It's a little difficult as I live in Thames (1 1/2 hours away and I come by bus to visit family in Auckland. However, the food is wonderful and there's bound to be enough that will appeal to everyone. I adore seafood and a lot of the other things served. Not once has the quality of the food been anything but wonderful, but what tops the wonderful food is the exceptional service. I have mobility problems and I always let the receptionist know when I ring to book a seat. They always place me in an area where I can get to the buffet area without any problems and they check to make sure I'm happy and managing alright. Having said that I have seen staff checking other patrons to see that they are also enjoying their visit to number eight. As far as stars go... I give five stars out of five for the food... and eight stars out of five for the staff, from front of house to wait staff and the chefs. And yes, they are THAT good.

Comment: There was a good buzz about the place - busy with diners and staff. The staff was wearing masks, which was appreciated. The buffet was set up in stations (fresh meats, fresh fish, fresh veg all cooked to order; asian; Indian, Italian, cheese and dessert). The food was tasty. The service was attentive and warm. I'm not sure of the cost (treated ?).

Comment: We went to lunch on a Friday, our first visit to the restaurant. The atmosphere was great, from the time we walked in, till the time we left. The food was amazing, lots of choices. And services was lovely and very helpful. And top it off, they surprise me with slice of cake for my birthday...... that was yum. We are planning our next visit dinner.

Comment: Atmosphere is good.
Food generally average.
Service is above average.
Sushi section is fresh.
Fish fresh, meet and vegetables with good BBQ.
Good Indian food selection.
The day we entered, prawns head starting turns black.Didnt touch any oyster, seems not fresh.(I grow up at Asian seashore city, I love oyster same as my wife. We know what is fresh oyster or what's not. We had nice oyster last time I mean last year. Not this time). Desert selection are basic and simple.
Nice ice cream.
The stuff frequently clear your table which is nice.

Comment: I took my wife there last night for her birthday dinner.
I have to say that this is hands down the best buffet restaurant that I have ever eaten at.
The service was nothing short of exceptional, and during our meal they even brought out a beautiful chocolate mousse with Happy birthday written on the plate in chocolate sauce.
The range of food available was incredible and I would have to say I've found a new favourite restaurant.

Comment: We just recently dined in Eight the newly refurbished, enlarged, and re-styled restaurant at the Cordis. A top breakfast experience for family and friends with the best service and the best food. Food stations were plenty and a plentiful selection of everything and more. Everything is nice and clean.

Comment: Went for shouting my good friends dinner. Food was okay, nothing fancy. Did not feel like i got the value from what i paid for. My colleague went later on n said the same thing. So my honest opinion to those who want to give their dearest a treat: avoid this place and find a proper elegant dining restaurant.

Comment: Food was delicious, different variety to choose from. Service was awesome, waiters and waitresses were very friendly and experienced. Just a note can yous please label the ice cream next time for those who have allergies, so people know what it is, my niece had an mild allergic reaction to the ice cream.
Overall its a nice place to dine ill definitely be dining there again.
