Comment: Very popular, (somewhat) justifiably. They have a small but varied menu of brunch items and sandwiches. Nice, though a bit on the pricey side for what you get. Excellent coffee, bread and pastries. Get in early if you can.

Comment: The pastries are totally 6/5 and especially the plain croissant takes me back to Paris where I had my first French croissants ever, and it’s taken 9 years to find croissants as good as those ones.. So glad I found this place although as others have also said in their reviews, I also found the service very poor and unwelcoming, such a pity since the place has great potential..

Comment: I have visited this place 5 times over the last 2yrs. I tend to go back for the almond croissant which is absolutely delectable hence 3/5 it is usually sold out. In every visit, I'm reminded of the poor service and why I prefer to go for alternative cafe nearby. Smile and tone of voice goes a long way in hospitality businesses. Often customers will come back for the atmosphere, feeling welcomed and a great service. I don't mind the overly priced coffee at the smallest cup you'll see in most Auckland cafes. If you're not acknowledged at the door while they sort out paying customers, naturally you'll proceed to take a seat at empty table rather block the doorway considering there's a handful empty ones but then you're told not to seat as tables are reserved. This is absolutely fine except the delivery and tone wasn't at all welcoming. The pastry delivery were then almost thrown at your table leaving you with that annoying sound of the plate as it lands on the table. Not a pleasant kiwi experience nor have I had this experience in Europe or other parts of the world that I've travelled to.

Comment: Omg yum! Best croissant ever, so crunchy & buttery. Also had a choc chip cookie & the coffee was really creamy even though I had a milk alternative. Such a lovely homely little cafe. The owners are pretty funny if you can get to chat to them ?

Review for the restaurant: I used to work on Queen st and this was my favourite place to go for lunch. Workers are lovely, one time they let me use their bathroom. Good food and reasonably priced!

Review for the restaurant: Everytime I get D19. thick noodle vegetarian the broth is so good. The tofu slices have cured me of all illness. For $14 this is one of the best meals in Auckland CBD.

Review for the restaurant: Lovely restaurant. Cute cats surround the old Monestry, with lovely art filling the halls. Great service, the meals were a little bit underwhelming but the desserts were great. Loved the chocolate bar. Oh and the fish was good too.
