Comment: The staff, presumably the owner is very friendly, and very helpful. The service is efficient and professional. The blueberry muffin I had for morning tea was excellent. Light and fluffy with plenty of blue berries. The decor and ambience is warm and welcoming coming in from a chilly morning. The coffee is equally good, good cream, strong but not bitter.

Comment: Very very impressed with both the service and the menu.. we visited with a 2 yo child for brunch, the staff went put of their way to accommodate our pram and offered a high chair. The food was amazing, my pancakes moist and packed with blueberries, fresh fruit on the side. Hubby's seafood chowder contained 6 different fish types, and the eggs bene perfect also. Kids breakfast simple and yummy! An all around excellent dining experience ?

Comment: Amazing Saturday morning breakfast. Although they don't have any vegan option on the menu, we adapted the veggie breakfast to come without eggs and it was delicious. Very gentle staff. Great experience.

Comment: Went there for lunch today, my coffee was almost cold. We waited 40mins for lunch and got an average meal. The chicken burger was warm when it arrived, had no flavor, the fries could have been warmer too. This cafe needs to up their game, there are better places with better food up to road.

Comment: After a short ferry ride from Auckland on a glorious Sunday we stumbled upon "Manuka Cafe", what a treat!! The corned Beef Hash was just amazing and my partner had the Big Breakfast, which he thoroughly enjoyed. Fast and friendly service, great coffee too. We will be back to try the dinner menu, well worth the short ferry ride over.

Comment: It was a great time eating in this place, I remember that we ordered some type of soup and some Fish & Chips there, it was very tasty however I didn't really eat/drink the soup because I wasn't a huge fan of those. It's good to visit there with family.

Comment: Great restaurant in Devonport. Very friendly staff and yummy food. We tried the smoked chicken pizza and calamari. Both are soo good! Pizza's topping is so generous and chicken is tender and juicy. Calamari was cooked perfectly too, we'll come back again when in the area!

Comment: After 2 weeks of travelling the country to come home to my local Devonport and to be fed the WORST Seafood Chowder in NZ is disappointing. There is another review on this absurdly poorly prepared watery meal further down. Chowder is not supposed to be a combination of water, milk and oil. This was a cheap attempt at a broth and missed the mark by a long shot. Staff were apologetic and understood the matter, and did not charge for the meal. This was disgusting and so disappointing to find in Devonport. Your kitchen should really try a Seafood Chowder (anywhere else) to learn how to cook this properly.

Comment: I was there on Saturday 26 Dec around 11 Am so have taken some time to consider if I should review my experience. After all the owner asked me to think about this. So food was Ok. Mussels were smothered in a tomato and chili sauce. The chili had no depth as it was felt on my tongue rather than in the back of my throat. The Corned Beef Hash was tasteless (I expect onion and a little garlic) and left a greasy after feeling. Coffee was very good.
The Owner. Left us with no choice as he pushed us into a table. We had stopped and looked at a menu as we had not decided on our café at that stage. Still we sat down. When I went to pay for the meal there was a sign advising of a surcharge. There was no mention of this on any menus or blackboard, I was told there was a sign in the window. The owner was right in my face at less than 1 foot distant from me. No attempt at social distancing.
I respect the fact that he is passionate about his business but really be customer focused.

Comment: Came for a leisurely Saturday lunch and was our third visit in about 2 months, which is saying something.
Wonderful service by very friendly staff, terrific food and a great atmosphere. Amongst the food ordered at our table was the pepperoni pizza (served piping hot and was delicious), fish and chips (perfectly cooked), prawns (a teeny bit under-seasoned) and penne pasta with chicken and mushrooms (creamy and tasty with a balance of lovely fresh herbs).
Also, their hand-cut fries are amazing!
There were alot of wait staff yet each was extremely friendly and attentive.
Just a great place with a nice vibe.
Recommend for any casual meal day or night.

Comment: Went there for lunch. We ordered whitebait fritter, seafood linguine, curly fries and drinks. For drinks, caramel milkshake and a cosmopolitan.
Well, the portion size was good but lets talk about the quality and taste of the food. The whitebait fritter is a must try as I haven’t seen this anywhere in Auckland. The seafood linguine could have been better, specially the sauce. The caramel milkshake was like a frappe and very icy.
The place has a good selection of bakery items and lot of options for ice cream. But their one scoop is like a kiddy size and pricey.
Overall, the experience was basic and probably just gonna stick to coffee and the bakery items if I have to go there again.
