Comment: The food was very nice. Service was also ok but was more casual cafe style service which didn't match the evening setting. When we went to pay, the woman who seemed to be the owner, wasn't the most professional. She answered the phone while we were trying to pay, leaving us standing there and when we produced an entertainment voucher she questioned the validity of it. It made us feel quite uncomfortable.

Comment: Had dinner here the other night and had unsatisfactory service. Found the waitresses to be rude. When I walked in I was asked where I would like to be seated and chose near the back where it was more quiet. As I was walking to the back section I was stopped by another waitress who asked why I would want to sit down the back, and redirected me to the seating next to the cashier and bar. Food was okay however very hostile ambience created.

Comment: Amazing place! Had my birthday dinner here and we were so well looked after. The staff are amazing and all our plates were empty because the food was so delicious! Have been coming here for years also and never been disappointed. Definitely worth a visit for amazing Italian food.

Comment: WARNING, this place does not honour Entertainment book vouchers. An ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING experience, the 1 star rating is only because I can't post this review without at least one star - this place deserves a minus rating. 24th December 2020 was NOT a holiday, and is my birthday. My wife knows I like Mediterranean food and CALLED AHEAD and spoke to Tony, checked whether they accept the Entertainment book, checked whether we should book a table and were told 'no problem, just come along on the day.' On arriving with my entire family I'm told that 'the Entertainment book would not be accepted' by the waitress. We told her about the telephone conversation and asked to see the manager. She went away, came back and said that the manager 'was in the back'. He or she could not be bothered talking to us. This is the final straw - as a Parnell local I've endured the bad (long) service times and average food portions for 20 years, and I will no longer put up with this disgrace to the entire cafe and dining industry. As a family we got up, walked out and will NEVER RETURN OR RECOMMEND PORTOFINO PARNELL TO ANYONE. There are plenty of better dining opportunities just across the road and right next to it.

Comment: The quality of food compared to other Portofino restaurants is unexpectedly low. Pizza, Lasagna - all a couple of levels down compared to, let's say Meadowbank Portofino. Seemed to be taken out of the fridge and heated up in a microwave. Lasagne sauce tastes like cheep stuff you get at a supermarket.

Review for the restaurant: I used to work on Queen st and this was my favourite place to go for lunch. Workers are lovely, one time they let me use their bathroom. Good food and reasonably priced!

Review for the restaurant: Lovely restaurant. Cute cats surround the old Monestry, with lovely art filling the halls. Great service, the meals were a little bit underwhelming but the desserts were great. Loved the chocolate bar. Oh and the fish was good too.
